Introduction:

TU Chemnitz is located in Chemnitz, with over 10,000 students and is the third largest university in the state of "Saxony". According to Wikipedia it has around 1000 new international students every year from all over the world. It has approximately 2000 employees in Science, Engineering and Management domains. It has outstanding research in many fields; for example, in the research area of "Smart Systems and Materials" TU Chemnitz is involved in Federal Cluster of Excellence - Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden(cfAED). The university also provides active support for the transition from the auditorium into entrepreneurship with the help of SAXEED - Start up network. It also has Smart Systems Campus, which is very near to the campus as well as the Fraunhofer-Institute for Electronic Nano Systems (ENAS). TU Chemnitz co-operates with 126 partner institutions in 39 countries.

It was introduced in 2013 and the number of cards issued as work permits in Germany has been on a steady increase.  For getting a Blue card, the person needs to have a university degree and evidence of a binding job offer with an annual salary of at least 49,600 Euros.
