You might spend money on many unwanted things during your first few days in Germany. The irony is that, you might not know that you are spending too much. Because you do not have a reference point on how much you need to spend on certain things. To save money, follow these 5 effective ways and save almost €500 during your first few days as an International student in Germany.
#1 Shopping:
One of your major expenditures in Germany will be for groceries. All the readymade food items from your home country will be over within few days and ultimately you need to go for grocery shopping within your first week. Most of the new students do not realise what to buy, where to buy and how to buy?
With all the food items having only German descriptions and the sign boards in the grocery shops also doesn't help you much. It will definitely be a new experience for all of you and you will end up buying the most expensive stuffs during your first 3-4 shopping journeys. Once you get a hold on what you need for groceries, then you will stop spending unnecessarily.

#2 Rules:
Germany is a land of rules and you need to be aware of them, because you can be fined heavily if you do not follow them. For example, you will be fined almost 700-1000 euros if you stream torrents and there is no way you can escape from the legal suit. This is just an example and you need to be cautious on what you do.

#3 Transportation:
When you are booking your flight ticket, you need to ask for rail&fly offer to your airline representative. If not, you need to pay around 30-50€ for train/bus ticket from the airport you land to your destination city. Since most of the websites are in German version, you need to know where/how/when to book your tickets, so that you will get the cheaper fare.
Every penny counts, so stop wasting money on unnecessary things and start saving. Do you have any more tips to save money? Let us know in the comment section
