Since I am from TU Chemnitz, many of the new students had asked me to write an article regarding the transportation options and guidance from Frankfurt airport to Chemnitz. I completely understand your situation, because even I was one among you when I came to Chemnitz for the first time.
Frankfurt Airport:
There is a railway station inside Frankfurt airport itself, from there you can catch your Train. It would be put up in the notice boards or you can ask some of the airport personell to guide you. Also, there will be trolleys available in the airport, which you can get for 1 or 2 Euros. If you do not have coins with you, you can easily buy something to eat(McDonalds is available in the airport) and then use the coins to get the trolley. Most of the airport personell in Frankfurt will speak English and will be happy to guide you.

Transportation options:
DB Bahn - If you are arriving at Frankfurt airport, the German railway(DB Bahn) is quite nicely connected with a railway station at the airport itself.
FlixBus - If you are choosing the bus route, then you need to goto the BUS Station that is away from the airport with all your luggage.
Cost:
DB Bahn - It would cost you around 30 Euros if you book the tickets in advance, or you can also book the tickets after reaching Frankfurt, which might cost you thrice the amount (90 Euros approx.)
FlixBus - With FlixBus, the ticket price is around 30-35 Euros if you book it advance. But you cannot book a bus ticket after reaching Frankfurt, because you need to book the tickets at least 2 hours in advance.
Route:
DB Bahn - The best connection would be to take the train from "Frankfurt Flughafen" till "Leipzig" in a 'Inter-City Express'(ICE) train and then take a 'Regional Bahn/Express' (RB/RE) from "Leipzig" to "Chemnitz".
Frankfurt Flughafen -> Leipzig(ICE)
Leipzig -> Chemnitz(RB/RE)
Their might be other connections via Nuremberg - Hof which is not advisable and might be more tedious with all the luggages.
FlixBus - There is a FlixBus route that is "direct" from Frankfurt Flughafen to Chemnitz, which would be the best option; but in case you cannot make it or miss your bus, then it might cost you more to book a new ticket.
There are other connections too via Bayeruth, etc., which are small towns and you might not find it good to stay for your 'lay-over' time with your luggage.
Duration of travel:
DB Bahn - If you take the Leipzig route, then you will reach Chemnitz within 5&1/2 hours. Whereas if you take the Hof, Nuremberg route then it might take around 6&1/2 hours.
FlixBus - If you take the direct route, it might take around 8 hours for you to reach Chemnitz and if you take the other connections route, it might take around 9-10 hours of journey.

Which one to choose?:
On my personal preference, I would choose the DB Bahn option because it is quicker, cheaper(if booked in advance) and way easier from Frankfurt Flughafen station.
On the other hand, if you do not get the discounted price for your ticket, then it is not suggested to book your train ticket for 90 Euros rather you can book a FlixBus and reach Chemnitz a little late.

Is 9 mins of transfer time is sufficient to change train with 3 bags of luggage in Nuremberg?
