Did you know that, you could rent a room in Frankfurt for just 250€/month? Yes, what you heard is true; a student pilot project "Cubity" is in place for revolutionising the housing by cutting down space, energy consumption and rent costs.
Cubity is a joint project at Frankfurt-Niederrad as a part of the "Home: Building and Living in Community" pilot project, which is jointly implemented by the Department of Integrated Urban Development and the German Architecture Museum and funded by the BMUB within the framework of the National Urban Development Policy.
Anyone who has been to Germany will know that, renting a house in major cities like Frankfurt is a nigthmare and that too, it is more difficult if you are looking for housing at student rates. Cubity is more like a saviour to all those, who are looking for cheap accommodation. But, the downside being - room are only 7.2meters in size.
The room has drawer, wardrobe, bed, a desk and ensuite bathroom. There is a common kitchen, communal area for reading and watching tv. Another major appeal is that, this building is the first student home with 'plus energy standard' - meaning the building produces more energy than it cosumes.
