What is VAJRA?

VAJRA is a program dedicated exclusively for scientists and academicians who are staying overseas and termed as Non-Resident Indian (NRI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO). 

What can you do?

  • You will work in Indian institution for 1-3 months per year
  • You can do teaching or mentoring during your period of stay in India
  • The offer can be extended/renewed every year

What will you get?

  • $15000 during first month and then $10000 for other two months. 
  • No extra support will be provided - Eg: Accomodation, insurance, etc., 
  • The payment will be in INR. 

Eligiblity:

  • The scheme is only for scientists, faculty, R&D professionals who are NRI/PIO.
  • The person should be active researcher with proven track record of research and development.

Indian passports of this type are not valid for GERMAN VISA | VFS Global(Germany)

An important information stated on VFS Global(Germany) website tells that the Indian passports that have Passport number "perforated" on all pages of the passport will NOT be accepted for German VISA application processing. It also states that, effective from 19-February-2018 Indian passports with perforated/punched-through on all the pages(first to last page) will not be accepted for German visa processing at the German VISA application centre in Bangalore, Cochin, and Trivandrum.  Which passport will be accepted? The website also shows us this image(illustration) of a passport, which would be accepted at this time.  What should you do if you have a perforated passport?
