DAAD Scholarship for Foreign graduates in Field of Architecture
Scholarship description
This scholarship is provided by DAAD, which gives the opportunity for the students to continue their education in Germany with a postgraduate course. The main motive of the scholarship is to promote the exchange of experience and networking among colleagues in the same field.
In this scholarship, the candidate can complete a Master's/postgraduate degree leading to a final qualification at a state or state-recognised German universtiy. This porgramme only funds projects in the area of Design/Planning.
The funding is provided for a duration of 10-24 months depending on the length of the chosen study programme. The usualy start date is from 1st October of the following year after the application, or earlier if a language course is taken prior to the study programme. Applicants who are already in Germany in the first year of the course at the time of application may apply for funding for their second year of study.
What is expected from the candidates?
The applicants must have gained a degree in the areas of Architecture, Interior Design, Monument conservation, Urban planning/Urban development, Regional planning, Landscape architecture, Landscape planning at the latest by the time they commence their scholarship-support study programme in Germany

Funding value
- Monthly payment of EUR 750
- Travel allowance
- One-off study allowance
- Insurance coverage
- Monthly rent subsidy (Additional benefit)
- Monthly allowance for accompanying members of family (Additional benefit)
- Allowance for a personally chosen German language course during the scholarship period
- Reimbursement of the fees for the TestDaF test
Requirements
- Applicants must have garduated no longer than six years before the application deadline
- Applicants who are a resident of Germany for longer than 15 months cannot apply for this scholarship
- The candidate must have the knowledge of the language of instruction that is required for the course at the chosen university.
